Saturday 20th November – bike *** – Felixstowe circuit including lunch at The Ferry – Grey, gloomy day with light winds.

What a grey, gloomy day here on the coast in Felixstowe, it hardly got light all day:( Exercises while Mag actually got out in the garden pottering with help from the two cats. Despite the poor weather the wind was light and as I had not been on the bike for ages asked Mag if she was up for a bike ride as she has been suffering side effects from her covid booster, she said she was fine so I made lunch and we set off around one. Down to the prom where I quickly lost Mag, she had stopped to speak to one of our sons’ mates with his 9-month baby, I returned and quickly found her again:) Past the Fludgers and around to the quitter Dip end stopping at our spot on the mouth of the River Deben for yummy homemade soup watching the tide whizz out. There were loads of gulls and a large flack of Dunlins on the shingle banks opposite. Boaty Mc Boat face better known as the Sir David Attenborough was heading back into Harwich while a youngster flew his kite:) Then onto the Ferry, quick trip around the boat yard before setting off on the Deben path, a little bumpy but no one around! Back across Marsh Lane with a huge stack od round bales by the delict house and then Mag spots a buzzard. Then Ferry Lane and back through the Grove woods lovely with all the fallen leaves. Stopping in the town for Mag to get a book at the secondhand shop before home for a cuppa and cake:) We were out 2 hours 30 minutes covering nearly 10 miles:)
There is a couple of days of cold north winds so might have to man up and head over to Bradfield for a foil, there is even talk of some snow latter in the week!
